Mark Matlock explains to us some of the current challenges of youth ministry. We have the most educated youth workers of probably any other time, but we tend to lack in developing real relationships with the youth and teaching them character development. Youth groups are often large, presenting more challenges in truly connecting; and families are more broken than ever. Mark Matlock is the Executive Director of Youth Specialties. Mark speaks nationally at YS events, including the PlanetWisdom student conferences, and is author of several books: the Wisdom On series, Living a Life That Matters, Don’t Buy the Lie, Freshman, Smart Faith, and Real World Parents. He also developed the Real World Parents seminars, a grassroots movement resourcing youth workers to impact families in their communities
