Family Talk Tuesday - Dangers of "Hooking Up"

Guest: Andy Braner

Ryan Dobson and Toben Heim play the second half of the Family Talk broadcast, "The Dangers of Hooking Up", and then interview Andy Braner, Camp Director at Camp Kivu, about teen sexuality.  Every parent needs to listen to this broadcast because things just aren't the same as when we went to high school!  This new phenomenon of "hooking up" and "oral sex" is sweeping the nation and taking our kids down with it.  Listen in to learn the truth about what is going on and how to speak with your kids regarding the subject.

Andy Braner is an internationally requested speaker whose passion is that no student should leave home and head to college without being positive what he believes.  Studies show that 80% of college freshman who come from Christian homes put their faith aside when faced with the pressures and professors in our colleges today.  Andy jumps right past the easy answers and the surface level and he dives into the real questions facing teens today.  He is more than just an event speaker, he reaches in to the hearts of students and makes them feel safe so that they can ask the questions they really need to ask whether it is about sexual purity or who God truly is.  Andy is a unique combination of head and heart.

Camp Kivu, likewise, is a unique combination of head and body.  While students are given the opportunity to hash out their faith in a safe environment which encourages questions and discussion; they are also given the opportunity to have adventures ranging from white water rafting to backpacking to rock climbing and much more.  Campers at Kivu explore their worldview and the character of God and what that means to them as teens in the world today.  They also have the opportunity to try adventure activities they typically can’t in their worlds.
