Manhattan Declaration: A Call of Christian Conscience
Dear Friends,
I received the message below from a godly man and good friend of mine and of Family Talk, Mr. Chuck Colson, regarding an urgent matter of religious liberty that I believe deserves the attention and participation of all Christians. I will be addressing this issue on my radio program very soon, but I ask today that you take a few minutes to read the Manhattan Declaration, and consider standing with us by signing this critical petition that is important to both the Church and our nation.
The Manhattan Declaration is a statement of principles, not a political action plan. The Declaration's aim is to alert secular leaders and other influences of our culture that Christians of many different traditions are already united in fundamental convictions regarding biblical morality and conscience.
You may read the Manhattan Declaration here, and follow by signing the petition simply by clicking here.
In Christ and unity,
James C. Dobson, Ph.D.
A Message from Chuck Colson
Co-laborers,
We must all act together NOW. What is going on today is the greatest test of religious liberty we will have faced in our lifetime.
If the administration does not back down, religious liberty—as clearly articulated in the Constitution and in court cases—will be gravely impaired.
I've never felt such a compelling call. This could revive the church; but if our efforts fail, we will be living in a much different country. We cannot afford to fail. Please act as quickly as you can.
Chuck Colson
