Book Burners In Publishing?

When concerned parents try to get sexually explicit books, often with LGBTQ+ themes, out of children's libraries, they are accused of censorship and "book burning." Of course, what parents are really doing is trying to protect their children from being exposed to inappropriate sexual material at an early age.

Some of those in the literary world who are yelling "censorship" might want to take a look in the mirror. Nearly 500 people, including best-selling authors, are demanding that Penguin Random House not publish an upcoming book written by Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett. They literally want to suppress the publication of a book by a Supreme Court justice.

You may be wondering why authors, publishing industry employees, and other members of the literary community want to prevent a book from even being published. They are very open about their motivation: They want to block the book because Justice Barrett voted with the Supreme Court's majority to declare that there is no right to abort a baby in the U.S. Constitution. These literary giants claim that Justice Barrett has committed an assault on "unalienable human rights." Our Declaration of Independence in its second paragraph actually refers to those rights with these words:

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."

Notice the first unalienable right listed, the right to life. Our founders, even before sonograms, knew that without the right to life, the other rights are beside the point.

But that's not all. They charge Justice Barrett with relying on "her own religious and moral" views in ruling against abortion. What she actually did was rely on the religious and moral views of the American founders who wrote the Constitution and believed our liberty came from God. They did not include a right to kill unborn children in the Constitution!
