Pushback Against the Misnamed "Equality Act" Continues

Written by Dr. James Dobson | March 30, 2021

Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives voted to advance the so-called "Equality Act" to the U.S. Senate. But absent the radical step of abolishing the filibuster—which President Joe Biden has suggested he would support!—the bill will likely die in the Senate. Let’s pray it does! But let’s also support our senators who are speaking out against this bill, and challenge those who aren’t doing so to step up and oppose this horrible legislation.

One senator with the courage to speak up is Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.), who recently stood on the Senate floor and drew attention to about some of the dangers of the Equality Act. He had this to say: "Their religious schools will be cut off from federal aid, their battered women’s shelters will be sued for supposed discrimination for refusing to admit men. Millions of Americans will be treated as second-class citizens and threatened with lawsuits simply for believing that men are men, and women are women."

Sen. Cotton is right. The Equality Act would take a battering ram to religious freedom, put women and girls at risk, and mandate acceptance of the LGBTQ agenda. Enough is enough!
