By James Gottry, Esq.
Recently, Dr. James Dobson spoke out about the "cynical use of the impeachment inquiry." If you missed his statement, you can read it here.
But Dr. Dobson was not content to simply point out the "dark side of our political process." As he has done throughout his decades of ministry, Dr. Dobson also challenged "we the people" to take action.
"Ours is a government of the people, by the people and for the people. I urge Americans to contact their representatives and demand that they start thinking more about their country and less about their thirst for political power. And then pray! Pray for our country, pray for all of our leaders, and pray for God's will to be done."
We live in a representative form of government, which means that we elect individuals to represent us in matters of personal, local, and national significance. The policies adopted and laws passed by those representatives will impact your present and your future. They will impact your family, your children's education, your business, your church, your local community, this nation, and the world.
As Christians, we have a spiritual obligation to be salt and light by seeking the good of our communities. As citizens, we have a moral obligation to participate in our constitutional republic. Let's do our job, and let's put people in government who will do their job.
Key messages • Together, let us build our lives on the principles of God's word, and then live out those principles in the home and also in the public square. • Ours is a government of the people, by the people, and for the people. We have a moral obligation to participate in our constitutional republic and set the course for our future. • Let's do our job, and let's put people in government who will do their job.
