“Satan so hates the genuine praise of Christ that his fiery darts of discouragement are not effective against us when we respond in praise.”
“Praise the LORD! Praise, O servants of the LORD, praise the name of the LORD!” Psalm 113:1 ESV
God loves it when we praise Him. Psalm 22:3 portrays a picture of “God inhabiting the praises of His people.” The Hebrew essence of inhabiting is a depiction of the Lord.
Picture that for a second—when’s the last time you actually stopped, sat down, and just remained present there? We don’t often find time to do that, but God does—when we praise Him.
Are the waters deep? Are you lonely? Discouraged? Do you find yourself wondering if God hears you when you pray or even cares? Every time you try to “look on the bright side,” is a dark future all you see? Maybe it’s time to praise Him and ask Him to come and dwell in your life.
When your life crumbles all around you, praise Him.
When you can’t breathe, praise Him.
When the dark clouds of fear descend on you, praise Him.
When you do, He promises to sit down and dwell with you.
