Just as 1 Corinthians 13 is known as the “love chapter,” and Hebrews 11 is the “faith chapter,” James 3 is called the “tongue chapter.” This passage describes how a horse is controlled by the bit in its¬†mouth; a ship by its rudder, and man is controlled by his tongue.
