So sickened by what he saw, Eisenhower invited Congress and journalists to see for themselves the newly liberated camps so that they could convey and document the horrible truth about Nazi atrocities to the American public. Unfortunately, Bauer and Rose, believe that American children are no longer taught about the horrific details surrounding the holocaust and American soldiers’ roles in the liberation of the Nazi death camps.
