In the closing days of the 2024 campaign, I participated in a faith summit with Donald Trump in the battleground state of Georgia. I was chosen to ask then-candidate Trump a question. So, I asked what he was going to do about the Left’s attempts to smash young women by forcing them to compete against boys in sports and then face the additional humiliation of sharing locker rooms with them. Trump was unequivocal. He said it was “amazing” we were even having this discussion, adding, “It’s going to end on day one, Gary. We’re not going to put up with it.”¹ Promises made.

In the early months of President Donald Trump’s second term, he issued an executive order aimed at stopping and rolling back the radical transgender ideology and public policy agenda.² Promises kept.

By issuing the executive order, President Trump directly challenged a powerful lobby that had, alarmingly, already corrupted many areas of American life, including education, medicine, and sports, and he made it clear that he is committed to protecting children from powerful chemicals and deforming surgeries. These dangerous treatments have been sold to the public generally, and to parents specifically, as “gender-affirming care.” In reality, this “gender-affirming care” is child abuse with no medical value.

The Trump Administration will not back down. Earlier this month, the Department of Justice (DOJ) issued twenty subpoenas to medical facilities and medical personnel, including doctors, who may be violating various federal laws by performing gender-transition procedures on children. The subpoenas are part of a DOJ investigation into healthcare fraud. Attorney General Pam Bondi explained, “Medical professionals and organizations that mutilated children in the service of a warped ideology will be held accountable by this Department of Justice.”³

The Justice Department is not alone. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is also involved in the growing investigation. The FTC is responsible for protecting consumers from unfair or deceptive acts or practices. Many legal analysts believe that when some medical professionals failed to disclose the risks of transgender treatment, exaggerated the benefits, or both, they were engaged in deceptive acts.⁴

Many prominent medical institutions are “feeling the heat,” and some are having second thoughts about continuing to seek profits from sex transitions for children. Children’s Hospital Los Angeles has announced it will close The Center for Transyouth Health and Development this summer.⁵ Hospital staff cited the Trump Administration’s plan to cut off taxpayer subsidies for medical institutions involved in the controversial and unproven medical treatments. This was the largest facility providing gender transitions in the United States.

The Trump Administration is moving on multiple other fronts in the clash with “trans-insanity.” California may lose some federal funds if it continues to allow men to compete in women’s sports. Maine, Minnesota, and Washington State are also facing possible federal legal action.

The Dr. James Dobson Family Institute applauds the Trump Administration for confronting the powerful trans-ideology lobby. We were one of the first Christian organizations to warn of the dangers of the trans movement to America’s children and to religious liberty. It is at war with the reality of God’s creation. He made us as male and female.

Children suffering from gender dysphoria need professional counseling as well as love from parents and the church. Biology teaches that no amount of radical surgeries or powerful hormones can turn a boy into a girl. Children must be protected from greedy medical providers and left-wing culture warriors attempting to benefit by exploiting young people’s confusion. Actual research not tainted by trans ideologues shows that 80 percent of children suffering from this disorder will outgrow it by late adolescence.⁶
