“He Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By His wounds you have been healed.”
📖 1 Peter 2:24
Good Friday is the day we remember that Jesus was beaten, mocked, crowned with thorns, and nailed to a cross.
- It looked like defeat.
- It looked like tragedy.
- It looked like the worst day in history.
But Friday is only good because of Great Sunday.
- Without the death of Jesus, there could be no resurrection.
- Without the cross, there is no forgiveness.
- Without His wounds, there is no healing.
- Without His death, there is no life.
Below is a devotion guide for you to follow or to read with your family this week.
Reflection:
What looked like defeat was actually God’s plan of redemption. Jesus did not lose His life; He willingly gave it. The darkest day in history became the greatest display of love. Good Friday reminds us that God can use what seems like the worst moment to accomplish His greatest work. As parents, this is the week to help our children understand that Jesus took our place so we could have life through Him.
A Prayer for the Season:
Lord Jesus, thank You for willingly giving Your life for us. Help our family to never grow casual about the cross. Teach us to live in gratitude for the forgiveness and life You secured for us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
