I Will Never Leave Thee – Part 1

Romans 8:28 says, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” It’s one thing to say you believe these words of the Bible, but another to take them to heart in the face of unthinkable conditions as a prisoner of war, and also losing your husband. On today’s classic edition of Family Talk, Darlene Rose, a missionary in the Pacific Islands during World War II, recounts the promises of God that she clung to during the horrible trials she was made to endure.

Why Fathers Are So Important

In 1942, General Douglas MacArthur was given an award for being a good father. His response shows the true value of being a dad: “Nothing has touched me more deeply than by the National Father's Day Committee. By profession, I am a soldier and take great pride in that fact. But I am prouder, infinitely prouder, to be a father. A soldier destroys in order to build. The father only builds, never destroys. The one has the potentialities of death, the other embodies creation and life. And while the hordes of death are mighty, the battalions of life are mightier still. It is my hope that my son, when I am gone, will remember me not from the battle, but in the home.” In this video, Dr. James Dobson explains why dads are so important, as they occupy a special place in the hearts of their kids that no one else can satisfy.

Every Dad Has Some Regrets

But kids are resilient, and they usually manage to turn out rather well. Remember that the Creator in the Garden of Eden also had "children" who were rebellious.

The Perilous Fight – Part 2

On today’s edition of Family Talk, Dr. James Dobson concludes his honest and open discussion with Dr. Ben Carson. They discuss his book, The Perilous Fight: Overcoming Our Culture’s War on the American Family, and his great hope for America, even in the midst of these immoral and destructive times. Mark 3:24 says, “If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.” Dr. Carson challenges us to wake up and get back to God and the basic principles of the Bible! We must concentrate on faith, family, and guarding our hearts against enemy tactics that seek to divide us by race, age, income, gender, political affiliation and religion.

Socialism: The Enemy of Christianity

On today’s edition of Family Talk, Dr. Jack Graham gives a presentation on one of those threats that has risen in popularity in recent years: socialism.
