Chuck Colson was the founder of Prison Fellowship Ministries (PFM), Prison Fellowship International (PFI) and The Colson Center for Christian Worldview. He was a best-selling author of many books, an international speaker, a syndicated columnist and a commentator on his radio program, BreakPoint. Colson received his bachelor’s degree with honors in history from Brown University, and completed his juris doctor with honors at George Washington University Law School. He was sent to prison in 1974 for his involvement in the Watergate scandal under President Richard Nixon. During the trial, Colson became a born-again Christian. After serving seven months, he started Prison Fellowship as a way to minister to the incarcerated. During his lifetime, Chuck Colson held 15 honorary doctorates, and was awarded the prestigious Templeton Prize for Progress in Religion in 1993. Chuck went home to be with the Lord in 2012 at the age of 80.
