It’s been a poorly kept secret that President Joe Biden wants to force Americans to fund abortions. Now, press secretary Jen Psaki has confirmed it.
During a recent press conference, a reporter asked Psaki where President Biden stood on the Hyde Amendment, a longstanding and life-saving legislative compromise that protects Americans from paying for abortions. Psaki was unequivocal in her response: “[T]he President opposes the Hyde Amendment.”
As noted in LifeNews, “For a supposedly devout Catholic, that’s a pretty far departure from the pro-life teachings of the Catholic Church.”
Whether or not taxpayer funding of abortion is mandated may well depend on the resolve of Senator Joe Manchin, a Democrat from West Virginia. Breaking from his party, Senator Manchin has been vocal in his opposition to taxpayer funding for abortion. Not surprisingly, he is under incredible pressure from the administration and fellow Democrats, especially on the radical left, to reverse his stance.
