Is your child on TikTok?

A recent investigation by The Wall Street Journal revealed that the popular video-sharing platform TikTok is promoting sexually explicit content to minors.

Investigators established 31 fake accounts on the platform registered to users between the ages of 13 and 15. They then analyzed the videos recommended for them on their “For You” feeds. What the investigators found was shocking.

As reported by Conservative Daily News:

“TikTok showed the underage accounts thousands of videos depicting drugs, pornography and sexual content, and alcohol use, including over a hundred videos promoting pornography subscription services and sex products, according to the investigation, which took place over several months.

One particular account, registered to a 13-year-old, was shown at least 569 videos related to drug use, including meth and cocaine addiction. Another account was recommended videos depicting role-playing sexual content until 90% of the account’s feed consisted of videos related to bondage, sadomasochism, and other sexual practices.”

Your children are facing an onslaught of obscene material from every side. If you aren’t monitoring what they are being exposed to at school, on television, online and on their phones, you are putting them at even greater risk.

It’s time for action!

Sit down with your kids and have an open discussion about God’s plan for human sexuality and help them understand the lies that our culture is selling. Make a plan—together—to protect your children from harmful and obscene content, and contact providers such as TikTok to let them know that it’s time for them to start protecting kids rather than exploiting them.
