Dr. James Dobson has joined with other Evangelical leaders to urge Congress to stand with Israel. In a letter released to Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer, Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, Speaker of the House Mike Johnson and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, the evangelical notables urged Congress to act "without delay" on a comprehensive list of initiatives.
Sadly, in many parts of the world, it is nearly impossible for Christians to peacefully and safely celebrate the birth of Christ. From communist China to significant areas of the Islamic world, Christians are harassed by governments and threatened by mobs. Apparently, now Christians in Ypsilanti, Michigan, USA, have to think twice about gathering to celebrate the birth of Christ.

Our first President, George Washington, issued the Thanksgiving Proclamation of 1789, which described in its opening sentence what the occasion was all about. President Washington wrote: "Whereas it is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favor…"
In this week's episode, Gary Bauer embarks on a journey that traces the origins of the first Thanksgiving celebrated by the Pilgrims in the autumn of 1621. This first Thanksgiving came as a result of a harsh 1620 winter, where as many as half the original colonists died. The powerful governor of California, Gavin Newsom, just lied about the small town of Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Newsom, widely seen as a substitute for Joe Biden as president in 2024, claimed the city passed a law that “banned being gay in public.” The truth is the city passed a law banning public indecency—actions such as public nudity, defecating in public, and fornication in public places. It does not mention the word “gay.”
In this week's episode of Defending Faith, Family, and Freedom, Gary Bauer chats with Kirk Cameron, American actor, evangelist, and television host. Kirk shares what challenged him to launch his child reading program in public libraries. He saw how libraries in large cities were not being utilized by locals because they had become overrun by crime, drugs, and homelessness. As Christians, Cameron says, we must take a stand for riotousness in the public square. “We need to bring the blessings of heaven to our cities…so that the goodness of God, not only in salvation but also in the positive influence Christianity, will have an impact on our society,” Cameron insisted.
After yet another disappointing result for pro-life candidates and ballot initiatives in the 2023 "off-year" elections, the media narrative on abortion is just as wrong today as it has always been. Now there is a rush by many in the professional political class to find "common ground" on abortion.
We at JDFI were deeply troubled by what we saw in New York City on Veterans Day, a day when we honor the men and women who have worn the uniform of the American armed forces. Thousands of marchers filled the streets of that city calling for a second Holocaust to "kill the Jews."
