Lt. Gen (Ret.) Jerry Boykin serves as the executive vice president at the Family Research Council in Washington, D.C. He was one of the original members of the U.S. Army’s Delta Force, and he went on to command these elite warriors in combat operations. Boykin also led the Green Berets as well as the John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School. During his 36-year military career, he was involved in numerous high-profile missions, including the 1980 Iran hostage rescue attempt, the 1992 hunt for Pablo Escobar in Colombia, and the Black Hawk Down incident in Mogadishu, Somalia. General Boykin and his wife, Ashley, have five adult children and several grandchildren.
