The Department of Education Seeks to Distort Title IX with Radical Gender Ideology

Fifty years ago, an iconic law called Title IX was implemented to protect women. Title IX prohibits discrimination based on sex in any educational program that receives federal funds. The law has enjoyed bipartisan support for decades, but suddenly it is in danger of being sabotaged.

President Biden ordered federal agencies to expand LGBTQ+ rights. His Department of Education then announced that Title IX, which was passed to protect women, will now be enforced to protect “gender identity” as well.

Under this radical new approach, boys who claim to be girls must be allowed to use girls’ bathrooms and locker rooms, as well as compete in girls’ sports. A law designed to protect real girls and women will now be used to protect fake girls and women. Moreover, children who insist they are transgender can demand to be addressed by pronouns that do not match their biological sex.

The Department of Education just published new regulations attempting to put radical gender ideology into girls educational and sports programs. Thankfully, 20 states sued the Department of Education to block this radical scheme. On July 15th, a federal district judge temporarily blocked the new regulations in those 20 states.

We now have until September 12th to let the Department of Education know we don’t want Title IX to be distorted with radical gender ideology.

What You Can Do
Visit www.saveservices.org/2022-Policy/Comments/ to find out how you can submit your letter online to the Department of Education before the deadline, urging that Title IX not be impaired.
