Gospel music pioneer Bill Gaither has been recognized with many accolades, including his induction into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame. He has also been awarded over 100 gold and platinum records, plus eight Grammys. However, on today's edition of Family Talk, this former English teacher reveals to Dr. James Dobson that his passion is to teach the next generation some key lessons. He just happens to do it through music and storytelling. His words of wisdom to Dr. Dobson include: be generous; act responsibly; have compassion; make memories; encourage others; and, most of all, love God.

Bill Gaither

Bill Gaither has been a singer and songwriter of Southern gospel and contemporary Christian music since the mid-1960s. He is best known for performing as part of the Bill Gaither Trio and the Gaither Vocal Band. The musical collaborations of Bill and his wife, Gloria, have resulted in more than 700 popular gospel songs, including the hymnal standards "Because He Lives" and "He Touched Me." Bill and Gloria’s collaborations have garnered eight Grammy awards, as well as over forty Gospel Music Association Dove Awards. The couple are also members of the Gospel Music Hall of Fame as well as the Southern Gospel Music Hall of Fame. Throughout his career, Bill has performed in front of hundreds of thousands of fans at world-renowned venues, such as Carnegie Hall, The Sydney Opera House, and the Kennedy Center. The Gaithers have three adult children, and make their home in Alexandria, Indiana.
