Gary currently serves as senior vice president of Public Policy and Culture at JDFI, president of American Values, and chairman of Campaign for Working Families PAC. Previously, he served in the Reagan administration as Under Secretary of Education and Head of the Office of Policy Development. Gary became president of the Family Research Council, senior vice president of Focus on the Family, and was appointed by President Trump to the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom.
Billy Graham's statue hasn't been up long, but it has already come under fire. As we recently informed you, every state is permitted to have two statues of famous people representing their state in the Capitol Building. North Carolina chose "Favorite Son" Billy Graham as one of their state's two statues.
In this week's episode of Defending Faith, Family, and Freedom with Gary Bauer, senior vice president of public policy at the Dr. James Dobson Family Institute, Bauer suggests the NFL's reaction to Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker's recent commencement speech at Benedictine College (a Catholic university) is, at best, an unfortunate misunderstanding, and,at worst, a gruesome anti-Christian lecture from the NFL's DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) bureaucrat.
There has been a grassroots uprising in the United States and worldwide against this latest U.N. power grab. Many nations are objecting to left-wing buzzwords in the text like “advancing gender equity" and more.
Something strange happened recently. The winner of a girls' track meet in Oregon was booed by the crowd.
Did you hear about the latest scandal in the NFL? Sadly, there have been many incidents of criminality in the NFL, including drug abuse and domestic violence. A Kansas City Chiefs receiver recently fled the scene of an accident after causing a multi-car crash. Reports indicated that he was also a suspect in an alleged assault.
Once again, the radical left is assaulting men and women of faith and the commonsense values of the American people. As we have reported to you, the Biden administration is rewriting federal regulations that impact major policies such as Title IX at a furious pace in order to force the extreme LGBTQ agenda into every aspect of our lives—our schools, whether you can be a foster parent, and even in our hospitals. Here's the latest example.
In this week's episode, Gary Bauer asks Terry Schilling, president of the American Principles Project, about the many dangers facing America. "In today's society, we are our own gods. We have our own truths. We are our own ultimate authority," says Schilling. Not only is this self-absorbed narcissism infecting the culture at large, it has wormed its way into America's churches, added Schilling. So, what is the antidote for this disturbing trend?
Raise your hand if you were a member of Boy Scouts of America when you were growing up. I was, and I learned about duty to God and country, and the value of good character. Sadly, the organization has been "transitioning" itself for years and the results are not likely to inspire another generation of boys.
On May 16th, a seven-foot statue of Reverend Billy Graham was unveiled in the U.S. Capitol. The base of the statue is engraved with the verse John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life."
Opposition is building to a proposed World Health Organization (WHO) pandemic treaty. JDFI has been sounding the alarm for months, but the Biden administration has continued its negotiations with WHO. Under the proposed changes, WHO, a United Nations entity, would have sweeping new powers over public health authorities and elected officials in the U.S. and around the world. In addition, all signs point to the treaty not being sent to the Senate for ratification, but being agreed to, unilaterally, by the White House.
