The Need for Affordable Housing

Dr.Ben Carsonserves as U.S. Secretary for the Department of Housing and Urban Development. He worked for more than 30 years as the Director of Pediatric Neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Childrens Center and notably performed successful separations of twins conjoined at the head in 1987 and 1997. He ran for the Republican Presidential Nomination in 2016 before withdrawing and backing then nominee, Donald Trump. Secretary Carson graduated from Yale University with a B.A. in Psychology and received his M.D. from the University of Michigan Medical School. He is an author of several books and has earned many awards, including the Presidential Medal of Freedom, presented to him by President George W. Bush in 2008. Secretary Carson and his wife Lacena Candy have been married for almost 45 years and have 3 adult sons and several grandchildren.
