How to Turn Thanksgiving into Thanks-living – Part 1

According to the late Pastor Adrian Rogers, “There is no other sin quite like the sin of ingratitude.” On today’s classic edition of Family Talk, we'll hear a special message from Pastor Rogers on the word “sacrifice,” and how it is used in Scripture. Psalm 107:21-22 states, “Let them give thanks to the Lord for His unfailing love and His wonderful deeds for mankind. Thriving In Crisis

It is possible not only to survive in a crisis, but actually to thrive in it. No better example exists than in the late Dr. Stephen Hawking, a former astrophysicist at the University of Cambridge in England. He is generally believed to be the most brilliant scientist since Einstein, and certainly, the most gifted theoretical astronomer to date. God’s Providence: What If Jesus Had Never Been Born – Part 2

According to Dr. Jerry Newcombe, so much of what is good about America can be traced back to the Bible. On today’s edition of Family Talk, the executive director of the Providence Forum concludes that there’s not a square mile on planet earth where Jesus has not made a positive difference. From Christian hospitals, orphanages, and schools to Christianity’s contribution to civil liberties, science, and medicine, this world would not be what it is without the Lord’s impact. Colossians 1:16-17 declares, “For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.”

God’s Providence: The Voyage of the Mayflower – Part 1

On November 11, 1620, the Pilgrims, after fleeing religious persecution by sailing to America aboard the Mayflower and settling in Plymouth Colony, drafted an agreement of self-government under God called The Mayflower Compact. On today’s edition of Family Talk, Dr. Jerry Newcombe, executive director of the Providence Forum, says that agreement was the first step toward the creation of the Declaration of Independence 156 years later. He also notes that gratitude to God has been America’s key to success. From the first Thanksgiving 401 years ago to Lincoln’s annual remembrance during the dark days of the Civil War, Americans continue to “give thanks to the Lord, for He is good.”
