The Battle Against Mental Illness and Addiction

Rick Amato is an internationally acclaimed speaker who was recently named as Ambassador to the Church for Mental Health and Addiction, by the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC). He founded Rick Amato Ministries and traveled to over 60 countries sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. Rick suffered multiple and severe injuries which led to his dependence on opiates. After a successful rehabilitation, he became passionate about speaking on addiction. Rick received his undergraduate degree in Psychology and an honorary doctorate in Divinity before pursuing a master’s degree in Human Services Counseling with emphasis on addiction and recovery. He serves on the leadership team of the Addiction and Recovery Network Division, a branch of the AACC. Rick and his wife, Susan, a licensed mental health therapist, currently reside in Wellington, Florida, where they founded the Dream Believe Institute.
