A Sober Update on Military Culture Part 2

Duty. Honor. Sacrifice. Qualities synonymous with the United States military. But, how is that culture faring in this postmodern society? Hear how our Armed Forces WILL be affected by the repeal of "Don't Ask Don't Tell" and the potential redefinition of marriage. It's a conversation every American should hear.

Elaine Donnelly is founder and President of the Center for Military Readiness, an independent public policy organization that specializes in military personnel issues. Founded in 1993, CMR advocates high, single standards in training, and sound priorities in military/social policies.

Secretary of Defense Secretary Caspar Weinberger appointed Mrs. Donnelly to be a member of the Defense Advisory Committee on Women in the Services (DACOWITS) for a three-year term (1984-1986). In 1992, President George H.W. Bush appointed her to the Presidential Commission on the Assignment of Women in the Armed Forces.

As a member of the DACOWITS and the presidential commission, Mrs. Donnelly participated in fact-finding visits to numerous military bases all over the country, including the Army's Fort Bragg, three Marine training bases, the Naval Academy and U.S. Military Academy, several ships, submarines and a SEAL training facility.
