In this week's episode of Defending Faith, Family, and Freedom with Gary Bauer, senior vice president of public policy at the James Dobson Family Institute, Bauer begins the podcast by addressing the antisemitic chaos on college campuses nationwide. We see an ancient hatred at America's finest institutions of higher learning. This is a dark evil that Christians must call out as sin, and reject whenever and wherever it rears its ugly head. Despite these college students shouting "death to Israel and death to America," not all is gloom and doom with America's youth. Bauer shares the story of 17-year-old Cameron Blasek, a Christ-follower who went toe-to-toe with his high school administrators who objected to Blasek flying the American flag from the bed of his truck in the school parking lot. "They told me if you don't remove this flag, you're getting written up for insubordination. I told them, hey, you know, there's no [school] rules or regulations saying I can't. I read the handbook," said Blasek. After much consternation and public outcry, school administrators agreed with Blasek that he had the right to fly the American flag from his truck. Bauer hopes Blasek's story inspires other young patriotic Christians to stand up for what is good and righteous. There is a beautiful and moving postscript to the Blasek story. You'll want to listen to this podcast with a box of tissues.
