In 1956, Congress voted unanimously to make "In God We Trust" our national motto. Sadly, over the years since then, God has been kicked out of our classrooms with predictable results. But maybe the tide is turning. Texas children are likely to see the motto in their schools this year. A law passed in 2021 by the Texas legislature, supported and signed by Governor Greg Abbott, is the reason.
