Ever since the bad law known as Roe v. Wade was overturned by the Supreme Court, the current administration has wanted to codify the right to an abortion that would allow this shameful act from conception through birth and perhaps beyond. On today’s edition of Family Talk, Janet Porter, founder of Faith2Action, quotes Dietrich Bonhoeffer. He said, “Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act. God will not hold us guiltless if we are silent in this hour.” The people of God need to rise up in defense of the unborn.
If you care about innocent human life, you have to be very careful with regard to whom you cast a vote. From the moment Roe v. Wade was overturned by the Supreme Court, members of Congress and elected officials in multiple states have been working tirelessly to ensure that not one unborn baby is saved from abortion.
After Roe v. Wade crumbled to the ground on June 24, 2022, nearly 20 states passed laws protecting unborn babies. On today’s edition of Family Talk, Janet Porter, the architect behind The Heartbeat Bill, rejoices that so many states have protected babies. A federal Heartbeat bill would protect children in the womb, even in the darkest blue states like California, Michigan, and New York. Proverbs 24:11 commands us to “rescue those being carried away to slaughter.” The church needs to rise up now and be a voice for the voiceless.
As a college freshman, Rebekah Hagan found herself pregnant with her second child. Already an unwed mother to her son, Eli, whom she had when she was seventeen, Rebekah was overwhelmed and fearful. On today’s edition of Family Talk, she shares with our own Dr. Tim Clinton that she proceeded with the steps to have a medication abortion with the rationale that she would rather face her Heavenly Father later, than her earthly father’s disapproval now. After taking the abortion pill at a nearby Planned Parenthood, she had instant regret. In God’s providence, Rebekah found the website AbortionPillReversal.com, and was connected with a pro-life doctor who prescribed progesterone to counteract the deadly abortion pill. Eight months later, Zechariah, her healthy baby boy, was born.
In the early 1980s, Dr. Francis Schaeffer warned of the disastrous effects of elevating an individual’s needs over the needs of society. Sadly, we are seeing his words of caution come to fruition even now. On today’s classic edition of Family Talk, Dr. Schaeffer calls out Bible-believing Christians for their silence in the face of the great moral issues of our day. He asserts that the Church has failed for two reasons. First, we’ve forgotten that Jesus is not only our Savior, but the Lord of all life. Second, many of us are too afraid to speak out. Dr. Schaeffer says that like the early Christians and America’s founding fathers, we must seek to obey God rather than man.
America's moral structure has been deteriorating in the last 40 years under the weight of a secular worldview. On today’s classic edition of Family Talk, author and theologian Dr. Francis Schaeffer asserts that America’s moral decline can be traced back to the rejection of the biblical notion that man is created in God’s image. He states that abortion, the failed public school system and the breakdown of the family are simply the ugly and inevitable results of a shift from a Christian worldview to a humanist worldview.
Crisis Pregnancy Centers (CPCs) provide healthcare services and baby clothes, food, toys, and moral support in a loving atmosphere to pregnant women.
We celebrate the fact that the pro-life movement is winning legislative and legal victories in state after state. But, sadly, under cover of darkness, cowardly pro-abortion arsonists and vandals continue to attack crisis pregnancy centers and desecrate pro-life churches.
The pro-life movement is still trying to figure out why a pro-life ballot initiative was defeated in Kansas a few weeks ago. In the meantime, pro-life victories are taking place in multiple states now that the Supreme Court made it clear there is no national "right" to abortion in the U.S. Constitution.
