Former Congressman Frank Wolf has been a friend and ally of Dr. James Dobson for decades. During Wolf's thirty-four years in Congress, he was a stalwart defender of faith, family, and freedom. Even though he is now "retired," he continues his efforts to alert American Christians about the growing peril we face.
In this week's episode of Defending Faith, Family, and Freedom with Gary Bauer, senior vice president of public policy at the James Dobson Family Institute, Bauer shares excerpts from the famous speech delivered by Benjamin Franklin on the floor of the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on June 28, 1787. While there were no tape recordings from 237 years ago, we have the full transcript of Franklin's remarks. To tell this story, Bauer plays clips from the historical documentary We the People, with a professional actor who plays Franklin. Listen, enjoy, and share with your family and friends!
In this week's episode of Defending Faith, Family, and Freedom, Gary Bauer talks about Associate Justice Samuel Alito's surreptitious recording 'scandal,' where a leftwing activist posing as a Christian conservative, secretly recorded him at a recent Supreme Court gala. What was this “scandalous” thing Justice Alito said? In the recording, the Justice agrees that the country would be well-served if it returned to a place of "godliness." If this wasn't bad enough, the reporter “caught” Mrs. Alito saying that she "relies on God"…that "God is her rock"…and because of that, she "isn't afraid of anything." Ladies and gentlemen, this is what the neo-Marxists in the Democratic Party believe is a "threat to our democracy." Listen to the podcast to hear Bauer's detailed take on this ridiculously feigned outrage.
In this week's episode of Defending Faith, Family, and Freedom with Gary Bauer, senior vice president of public policy at the Dr. James Dobson Family Institute, Bauer suggests the NFL's reaction to Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker's recent commencement speech at Benedictine College (a Catholic university) is, at best, an unfortunate misunderstanding, and,at worst, a gruesome anti-Christian lecture from the NFL's DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) bureaucrat.
Once again, the radical left is assaulting men and women of faith and the commonsense values of the American people. As we have reported to you, the Biden administration is rewriting federal regulations that impact major policies such as Title IX at a furious pace in order to force the extreme LGBTQ agenda into every aspect of our lives—our schools, whether you can be a foster parent, and even in our hospitals. Here's the latest example.
In this week's episode, Gary Bauer asks Terry Schilling, president of the American Principles Project, about the many dangers facing America. "In today's society, we are our own gods. We have our own truths. We are our own ultimate authority," says Schilling. Not only is this self-absorbed narcissism infecting the culture at large, it has wormed its way into America's churches, added Schilling. So, what is the antidote for this disturbing trend?
On May 16th, a seven-foot statue of Reverend Billy Graham was unveiled in the U.S. Capitol. The base of the statue is engraved with the verse John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life."
Do you think it was a surprise to God that you were born in America, or have had the good fortune of legally immigrating to America? Of course, He wasn't surprised. In fact, the Lord chose to give you the greatest blessing anybody can possibly have by beginning your life here in a nation built on the truth that your liberty comes from the God who created you.
Our friend, Eric Metaxas, is quickly becoming a modern Paul Revere for the American Church. On the heels of his 2022 book, Letter to the American Church, which described the disturbing similarities between the sleep-walking church today and the German church of the 1930s, Metaxas is sounding the alarm again. In Religionless Christianity: God's Answer to Evil, Eric warns that the hour is extremely late for God's people to confront the tidal wave of evil engulfing America.
Every day's screaming headlines of crime, corruption and hatred remind us of the desperate need for America to turn back to God and pray for His mercy and protection. But according to the Washington Post, which is the most influential and powerful media outlet in our nation's capital, prayer is the problem.
