What would be your reaction if you found out that your child had been sexually abused by someone very close to you? Hear the story of Dr. Walt and Barb Larimore and how they used their painful family tragedy for God's glory.

Dr. Larimore has been a practicing family physician for over 30 years (delivering over 1,500 babies). He currently serves as the Medical Director for Mission Medical Clinic, a free-clinic for the poor sponsored by over 100 churches and religious organizations in Colorado Springs.

Dr. Larimore teaches family medicine part-time, holding adjunct clinical academic appointments in family medicine at the In His Image Family Medicine Residency Program in Tulsa, OK and the University of Colorado Family Medicine Residency Program in Denver, CO.

When I received my diagnosis of cancer in 2001, I was an award-winning teacher and part-time counselor. I loved teaching, but I knew God wanted me to go into counseling full-time. After my diagnosis, I begged God to let me live and promised to do whatever he wanted.

One month after I finished radiation, I received a phone call to go for an interview for a position I hadn't applied for. At the interview, I accepted a full-time job as a substance abuse counselor in a men's prison. I enjoyed my work at the prison, but the men were allowed to smoke. My asthma got worse, and after a few years, I had to leave.

In 2008 he earned a D.D. from Trevecca Nazarene University.

A pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Lower Heyford from 1974 to 1977, he also served as Senior Minister of Westminster Chapel from February 1, 1977 to February 1, 2002.

Dr. Kendall is the author of 50 books, including Controlling the Tongue: Master the What, When and Why of the Words You Speak (2009), When God Shows Up (2008), God Gives Second Chances (2008), How to Forgive Ourselves Totally (2007), Total Forgiveness Revised (2007), Just Say Thanks (2005), Thorn in the Flesh (2004), and Believing God (2003).
