America’s Moral Freefall – Part 2

In the early 1980s, Dr. Francis Schaeffer warned of the disastrous effects of elevating an individual’s needs over the needs of society. Sadly, we are seeing his words of caution come to fruition even now. On today’s classic edition of Family Talk, Dr. Schaeffer calls out Bible-believing Christians for their silence in the face of the great moral issues of our day. He asserts that the Church has failed for two reasons. First, we’ve forgotten that Jesus is not only our Savior, but the Lord of all life. Second, many of us are too afraid to speak out. Dr. Schaeffer says that like the early Christians and America’s founding fathers, we must seek to obey God rather than man.

America’s Moral Freefall – Part 1

America's moral structure has been deteriorating in the last 40 years under the weight of a secular worldview. On today’s classic edition of Family Talk, author and theologian Dr. Francis Schaeffer asserts that America’s moral decline can be traced back to the rejection of the biblical notion that man is created in God’s image. He states that abortion, the failed public school system and the breakdown of the family are simply the ugly and inevitable results of a shift from a Christian worldview to a humanist worldview.

On Tuesday, November 8th, Americans across the country will cast their votes in the midterm elections. This will be a moment in time that will prove to be crucial for the future of our country. Most Christians recognize that our nation is divided, is in serious trouble, and that none of our problems will be solved unless believers step into the public square and cast biblically-informed votes. On today’s edition of Family Talk, Dr. Tim Clinton and Gary Bauer, senior vice president of public policy at the James Dobson Family Institute, identify the “kitchen table issues” on the ballot this fall and remind us of our duty and the importance of making our voices heard at the polls.

On today’s edition of Family Talk, Ken Harrison, the author of A Daring Faith in a Cowardly World, urges Christians to have the courage of their convictions. He explains we should boldly and lovingly share Scripture, not our opinion, with those walking in sin, urging them to repent. The reason God didn’t send us to Heaven upon our profession of faith is because He has a plan for us to accomplish while here on earth. Philippians 3:14 declares, “I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
